FEBRUARY

Create Your Own Natural Spa Products
February 8th 6-8pm
Learn to make handmade spa products (Bubble bath, manicure and pedicure soaks) from scratch, with Christine Jones, a local artisan who specializes in natural cleaning products, hand-made soaps, and spa products. We will be making fun creations perfect for Valentine's gifts. Take your creations home or give them as gifts. To register please call us at 218-547-2880 or email erin@walkergreenscene.com. Knife Sharpening
Friday, February 24, 2012
Dan Coleman, from DFC's Cutting Edge Knife Sharpening, will be at Green Scene from 12:00pm - 4:00pm sharpening knives. He will also have kitchen knives available for sale. If you would like your knives sharpened on-site please bring them by 12:00pm on the 24th. You can also drop your knives off anytime before the 24th. Cost: Between $2-$5, per knife, depending on the size.

Women's Expo
Saturday, March 3, 2012
Don't miss the upcoming, Free Admission, Women's Expo, located at Northern Lights Casino. Erin and Mariah will be demonstrating various Green Scene deli favorites at 10:00-11:00am and 12:00-1:00pm. Bring a friend and bring your appetite to try some delicious creations. Come visit the Green Scene booth for fun cuisine tasting and a chance to win one of Green Scene's signature hand-made, fair trade market baskets filled with fresh Organic produce.

Cooking 101 for Kids! - $10
Friday, March 23rd, 10:00am - 12:00 noon
Must be in grades 2-3. Class is limited to 10 and will be held in the WACC Kitchen.
Ever wanted to make something warm and tasty for you and your family? School's out for the day, so join us in this class where we will learn what it takes to put together a great meal that will be sure to make your family smile! We will go over kitchen safety, proper food handling, food prep, and cooking techniques. Best of all, you all make a tasty meal to share with each other! This class is part of the "Beyond the Bell" Series, a collaboration with WACC, Community Ed & Green Scene. Registration for this class will be done through WHA Community Education. Gluten-Free Cooking

In this hands-on class, Candice Ihrke will guide students in baking gluten-free Angel Food Cake, Dill Batter Bread and she will share helpful baking tips for converting your favorite wheat recipe to gluten-free ingredients that taste great. Each participant will take home a portion of the prepared gluten-free creation and a wealth of gluten-free foods and cooking information. *Please bring a pen and paper to take notes. Previous classes that we hope to repeat:

Learn the art of cheese-making. This is an introductory class taught by Sari Mabbett, a local artisan who has been hand-crafting cheese for over 15 years. This class is fun for all ages and will include a demonstration and all supplies for students to make Mozzarella and a choice of Ricotta, Panere, or Queso Blanco cheeses.

Make your own Cleaning Products. Ever wanted to learn how to clean with pure soap? Take this class and we will teach you how to make everything from an all purpose cleaner, to fireplace cleaner. All with the same green product, Pure Soap Flakes! Join Christine Jones and take home lots of recipes and samples for a green and clean home!

Gluten Free Cooking Class, Pizza Dinner. Join us for a two hour hands-on class, in making your own gluten free pizza. We will share our delights with the class in this roundtable of pizza making. Be prepared to make a variety of pizza's, from appetizers, main dish pizzas, to a delicious dessert pizza. Come hungry, as we will end with a delectable dinner for all. We are excited to welcome Vickie Daniels into the Green Scene Kitchen to teach us the basics for gluten free pizza dough.
